This one bedroom rental apartment is located in Lucca in a very old section of town, within the city walls. The building itself is nearly one thousand years old. Actually, it has just completed a total renovation of the space, installing new fixtures, floors and walls, but retaining wherever possible pieces of the buildings history - the amazing ceiling beams, for instance, and some of the original brick walls.
The apartment is on the top floor (three flights of stairs) and is very airy and light.
The large and open living room/dining room is comfortably furnished and features a few beautiful antique pieces. The sofa and large ottoman are both convertible to beds, offering the option of accommodations for 2 additional guests. The kitchen, lofty with its rooftop views, is fully equipped with sink, stovetop, oven, dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator and freezer. There is also a washing machine.
The bedroom is quite, private, roomy and light with its own ensuite bath.
The apartment looks out over a quiet and lovely square not far from the Porta S. Maria entrance to the city. It's a wonderful way to experience city life, Italian style. Two or three good restaurants, a bicycle rental agency and a tourist information center are nearby.
