This flat is at the first floor of an old traditional ‘Palazzo lucchese’ (Lucchese building), dated back 1670. At that time the noble families used to build their ‘Palazzos’ taking in consideration that they had lived at the first floor, so called ‘Piano Nobile’ (Noble flat), and the staff at the upper floors. For this reason the first floor has a very high ceiling, frescoes, huge windows and doors, and especially it is very elegantly furnished.
The large double doors and gracious entry hall are very welcoming and the center from which all other rooms are reached. A very large and light double living room is comfortably furnished with many upholstered pieces, beautiful rugs and lovely window treatments. Two large double windows in this room face the Piazza Santa Maria Forisportam.
A large master bedroom opens onto the foyer. The room has a double bed, fireplace and separate sitting area. Two tall double doors open onto a balcony that overlooks the piazza.
Each of the four bedrooms in this apartment are very private and beautifully furnished with upholstered headboards, bed skirts and comfortable reading chairs.
The fourth bedroom, at the opposite end of the apartment, is another master bedroom. It is airy and large with a seating and desk area and large armoire
There are two full baths - one at each end of the apartment. Both are updated and modern with very interesting tile work and new fixtures.
There is a formal dining room, a pantry room with a fully stocked armoire (many sets of dishes, glasses and other items used in entertaining), and a service room for laundry and storage. The kitchen is lovely - newly renovated, modern and fully equipped.
This beautiful apartment is very convenient to all the beauty the charming city of Lucca has to offer. It is within walking distance to the train station yet offers a private and quiet retreat.
